January 2021
Greetings, Titans,
I am your instructor for CIS-115 Introduction to Programming and
Logic, and I am writing to let you know that our class will be meeting synchronously
on-line during our designated class times via Microsoft Teams.
Here are the instructions for using
teams.

If you are unfamiliar with Teams,
you can find additional instructions for how to use it on eLearning’s Online
Learning Basics Course in Moodle—log into Moodle and click on the New to Moodle
graphic at the top of your Moodle home page to get to Online Learning
Basics. Scroll down to the section on
Microsoft Teams. Please plan to log into our site a little bit early if you
need to familiarize yourself with how to use it.
Meeting via Teams will allow us to
get to know each other and establish our routine in anticipation of returning
to campus later this month. I would love
it if we could start putting names and faces together. Teams does have features for blurring your
background. See How
to Blur Your Video Background on Microsoft Teams for help with this.
You can receive in-person help with
learning how to use Teams through the Titan Hub computer lab on the Jamestown
Campus. The lab is located on the 3rd
floor of the library (LRC) and is open 9-4 Monday through Friday.
I am really excited to get to meet
you this week and look forward to a great semester! Please let me know if you need any help or
have questions.

P.S. I wanted to
reach out to you to let you all know that Titan Link has laptops and hot spots
for students who need them. The laptops that we have are business class windows
laptops so they would be nice machines. The students will need to fill out the
link below to be considered for one of the laptops. We are trying to get them
out to students as fast as possible. When they come in to receive the laptop,
computer tutors set them up for them and make sure they have the programs that
they need.
